August 14, 2013
Jayne Doyle, one of our massage therapists, has gained a distinction in Adapting Complementary Therapies in Cancer Care Diploma.
Jayne has recently completed her Diploma at The Christie NHS Hospital in Manchester, which is a Cancer Speciality Hospital. The diploma enhances Jayne’s knowledge of Complementary therapies and cancer.
She has learnt adapted techniques in Aromatherapy, Massage, Reflexology and Relaxation to:
- Improve feeling of wellbeing
- Relax
- Sleep better
- Increase energy levels
- Reduce stress & anxiety
- May also help with some of the symptoms of cancer & its clinical treatment such as breathlessness, pain, feeling sick and constipation
All treatments involve the use of gentle pressure to back, neck and shoulders, hands or feet.
Aromatic essential oils can be used and are carefully selected to suit you as an individual. The essential oils have particular properties that can be relaxing, soothing or used to address specific symptoms. They can be used in combination with a carrier oil for massage or on their own as an “aromastick”.
Adapted reflexology techniques can be used to help reduce tension, improve sleep or ease constipation or reduce nausea.
Jayne can add relaxation techniques in order to enhance the treatment and help with symptom management.
